Six people were arrested yesterday by members of the Police at Paphos and Larnaca airports, to facilitate investigations into five investigated cases of forgery and circulation of a forged document, and one investigated case of impersonation.

Specifically, yesterday afternoon, three suspects, men aged 22, 23, and 24, presented themselves at the departures area of ​​Paphos airport, to depart on a flight to a European country. During the passport control, they presented to members of the Police, passports of a European country, which are believed to be fake.

The fourth suspect, a 30-year-old man, who, also yesterday, presented himself at the departures area of ​​Paphos airport, to depart on a flight to the same country in Europe, during the passport control he presented to members of the Police, an identity card that from the examinations so far believed to be genuine, however he is not its rightful owner. The circumstances under which the identity card came into his possession are being investigated.

The four suspects, nationals of third countries, who reside legally in Cyprus, were arrested and detained for the purposes of police examinations, with the Paphos Police Department investigating the four cases.

Two other persons, men aged 18 and 24, were arrested by members of the Police at Larnaca airport, after yesterday afternoon, they tried to depart on separate flights to two European countries, presenting during the passport control, identity cards of European countries, which believed to be fakes.

The two suspects, nationals of third countries, one of whom resides legally in the Republic, while the second, found to have entered and is in the Republic illegally, were taken into custody for the purposes of police examinations, with the Larnaca TAE investigating the two cases.
