Fines of thousands of euros to 15 people in charge of the premises for the measures

The majority of the complaints concerned the non-possession of a safe-pass certificate by employees, as well as the non-control for holding a safe-pass certificate

Fifteen people in charge of the premises and fourteen people were reported for violations of the decrees and the Law on Infectious Diseases, during inspections by the Police, throughout Cyprus, in the last 24 hours. In three of the premises complained of, two supermarkets and a bakery, were issued to their managers, out-of-court notices of payment of the sums of 8,000, 3,000 and 4,000 euros, respectively.

The majority of the complaints made in the fifteen premises, concerned the non-possession of a safe-pass certificate by employees, as well as the non-control for the possession of a safe-pass certificate for the entry of customers in the premises.

By province, in checks carried out in Nicosia, from 12.00 noon until 8.45 on Sunday night, six property managers were reported, in which employees were identified who did not have a safe-pass certificate. These are the managers of two clothing stores, a cosmetics store, a supermarket, a bakery and a fast food restaurant, who were issued out-of-court notices of payment of the sums of 500, 750, 500, 500, 8,000, and 750 euros respectively.

At Limassol, in checks that took place shortly after 9.30 am and shortly after 10.00 am on Sunday morning, the supermarket manager, in whom an employee did not hold a safe-pass certificate, and the fruit shop manager, whose entrance was not checked for possession, were reported safe-pass certificate from customers. The two heads of the premises were issued out-of-court payment notices for the sums of 3,000 and 750 euros, respectively.

Two complaints were made by the managers of two cafes in Larnaca, after checks that were made shortly after 11.30 and shortly after 12.00 on Sunday noon. In the first cafeteria there was no check at the entrance for having a safe-pass certificate from customers, while in the second cafeteria it was found that an employee did not have a safe-pass certificate. Out-of-court payment notices for the amount of 500 euros were issued to each of the two managers.

An out-of-court payment notice for the amount of 500 euros was also issued to a kiosk manager in Paphos, where an employee also did not have possession of safe-pass certificate control. The check was carried out shortly after 3.00 on Sunday afternoon.

In the free Famagusta, to a coffee shop manager, an extrajudicial notice of payment of the amount of 500 euros was issued, since there was no necessary sign at the entrance of the premises. The inspection at the premises was carried out shortly after 10.00 on Sunday night.

Three complaints from property managers, which were not checked for having a safe-pass certificate and identity by customers, were made in the area Morphou, after inspections carried out at the three premises, from 9.00 in the morning until 3.15 on Sunday afternoon. In one case, the supermarket manager was issued an out-of-court notice of payment of the sum of 4,000 euros. The restaurant manager was notified of the payment of the sum of 750 euros, while the manager of the second restaurant was issued a notice of payment of the sum of 500 euros.

The majority of the fourteen complaints concerned the non-use of a protective mask in public places and on vehicles, as well as the non-possession of a safe-pass certificate by employees.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 3,162 inspections of persons and premises were carried out, with the inspections for the implementation of the decrees and the observance of the measures taken to deal with the pandemic being continued by the Police.
