After noon on Wednesday, barring unforeseen circumstances, Cypriot nationals will return from the UAE on a repatriation flight, according to a recent update from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Yesterday, 12 people returned on regular flights. These are people who were in Israel and Jordan and traveled by road to Cairo. Also, Cypriots who were in Bahrain in transit from other countries, including Asian ones, are returning within the day.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Theodoros Gotsis told CNA that a total of 756 people are in the UAE, but it is not known whether all will return on repatriation flights. Of the 756 people, there are also permanent residents in the UAE and communication is being made with everyone for better coordination and planning.
