The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that, following today's decision, the Council of Ministers approved the changes to the amended Action Plan for the gradual resumption of flights to and from Larnaca and Paphos Airports.

In particular, taking into account the latest parameters regarding the Digital Certificate (EU Digital COVID Certificate (EUDCC)), which is expected to enter into force from 1η In July 2021, the Council of Ministers approved, for the purposes of smooth implementation of the European Regulation and to facilitate the movement of European citizens and entry into the Republic of Cyprus, as follows:

All persons holding a valid and valid digital certificate (EU Digital COVID Certificate (EUDCC)) by the competent public authorities of the Member States, including the European Economic Area, will be allowed to enter the Republic of Cyprus, provided that:

i) Vaccination Certificate, in which the vaccination schedule has been completed regarding the required number of doses and the number of days specified by the Ministry of Health has elapsed between the last dose (depending on the vaccine given to them) and the date of travel . In addition, only vaccines licensed by the European Medicines Agency (AEO) and Sputnik V or Sinopharm (BBIBP) vaccines will be accepted. COVID-19).

(ii) Vaccination certificate indicating vaccination with an acceptable dose of a two-dose vaccine (approved by the European Medicines Agency (EOF) or Sputnik V or Sinopharm) and in addition states that the person has recovered from the disease COVID-19.

It is noted that the Member States are expected to be granted, through the Regulation, a transitional period of six weeks from its entry into force, for those countries that are not yet ready to issue digital certificates.

Consequently, holders of non-digital certificates from those States that will make use of the transitional period and have not been issued since 1η  July digital certificates will be allowed to enter the Republic of Cyprus, until the issuance of digital certificates by their states. It is understood that at the end of the transitional period, in terms of vaccination certificates from these countries, entry into the Republic of Cyprus will be allowed only to holders of digital certificates.

iii) Certificate of recovery after 14 days from the date of sampling of the positive RT-PCR result valid for 180 days from the date of sampling.

In the case of recovery certificates, only European digital recovery certificates will be accepted from the public authorities of the Member States, including the European Economic Area and Switzerland.

iv) PCR - RT laboratory test certificate, with sampling performed during the last 72 hours before the trip to the Republic of Cyprus, proving negative PCR for COVID-19.

It is noted that the existing PCR - RT laboratory test certificates have already been accepted with the existing Flight Resumption Action Plan, with the sampling taking place during the last 72 hours before the trip to the Republic of Cyprus. The difference with the entry into force of the European Regulation is that these certificates will be issued in digital form, ensuring their authenticity.

Regarding the holders of PCR laboratory test certificates, whether digital or not, the existing procedure will be followed in the electronic platform CyprusFlightPass related to the categorization of countries (green, orange, red and gray category).

It is noted that the Ministry of Health, where it deems necessary, will carry out sampling checks and no passenger is exempt from sampling checks.

Finally, it is clarified that passengers traveling to Cyprus must post their digital certificate on the Cyprus Flight Pass online platform.
