Issues such as school bullying, acceptance, respect for diversity, social exclusion and racism are addressed in the short film "The Beast", which will be screened in all schools in Cyprus with the support of the Cyprus Banking Association.

According to the Association's press release, "the film stars the Monster; not like the one that may first come to mind, but a nice and sensitive Monster that seeks to send multiple messages to every viewer."

The short film "The Beast", is directed by Dana Papadaki and written and produced by Marios Nikolaos.

The Association of Banks of Cyprus, in the context of its social contribution and its long-standing policy for the promotion of actions aimed at raising public awareness on the aforementioned topics, undertook the sponsor of this film. The film was donated free of charge to the Ministry of Education and Culture for use in view of the Panhellenic Day Against School Bullying. In addition, the Cyprus Banking Association sponsored a number of copies and posters of the film which will be distributed to schools.

Commenting on the creation of the film and its expected utilization by the schools, the General Manager of the Cyprus Banking Association, Michalis Kammas, said that the Cyprus Banking Association has a clear orientation and approach to the issues it deals with which are not limited to purely financial issues. .
"It is our belief that, for everything that concerns the life of all of us and, especially, of our children, we should do as much as we can to improve the social conditions and the individual issues that concern our daily lives. We have to deliver a tomorrow with the best prospects for the next generations, with the most positive data in both society and the economy. These are the main reasons that pushed us to support this production, which we saw with great satisfaction in the process to be embraced by the competent Ministry. "We wish it to be a good trip, to be a springboard for useful discussions, to prove to be a useful tool in the hands of our teachers and to convey messages that have the most positive impact possible," he said.

For its part, the Ministry of Education and Culture welcomes the initiative of the Cyprus Banking Association for the financing of the film and congratulates its actors for the messages they convey. The Ministry of Education and Culture points out that such actions complement and strengthen the work of the State in cultivating a culture of acceptance, respect and mutual understanding. He also points out that initiatives such as this one are characteristic of active social groups which recognize and assume their social responsibility.
