The investigations of the Police and other government agencies are in full progress in relation to the tragic death of the 63-year-old man in the fatal fire that broke out on Sunday, November 3, at a polystyrene manufacturing plant in Aradippou industrial area.
The Police, whose members are guarding the scene for the third day, are investigating the criminal part of the case, i.e. if there are criminal responsibilities against anyone for the death of the 63-year-old.
The Fire Service in collaboration with the Electrical Engineering Department are investigating the causes of the fire, pending tests regarding the stability of the building.
The Labor Inspection Department investigates whether the standards and provisions for the safety of employees in the workplace were met and whether there were violations of the law.
Each agency will prepare a report to be submitted to the Police, who will then send the case file to the Legal Service for instructions.
The victim was transferred to the Larnaca General Hospital and the proper tests will follow to identify the body in collaboration with anthropologists and experts due to the condition in which it was found.
The family's request is that the name of the unfortunate 63-year-old not be made public.
The family appointed Marios Matsakis as the coroner to represent them.
