The Yellow Warning issued by the Department of Meteorology is in effect from 6 am this morning until 6 am on Saturday.
A combination of rain and isolated storms will affect the island at times. In a storm, hail may fall and winds may increase. Total rainfall, mainly in the western half of the island, may exceed 55 mm in 24 hours and the intensity of the rain may exceed 35 mm per hour.
Today the weather will be cloudy with rain and occasional local storms. On the highest peaks of Troodos, late in the afternoon, it is possible that snow or sleet will fall. Low pressure is affecting the area. Dust will be suspended in the atmosphere until the evening.

In the areas of the storms, hail is also likely to fall and the phenomena will be temporarily prolonged or even intense. The winds will blow from the south to the southwest, moderate to strong 4 to 5 Beaufort and temporarily very strong, 6 Beaufort. The sea will be rough and wavy in the windward direction. The temperature will rise to around 19 degrees in the interior and on the coast and to 8 degrees in the higher mountains. In the evening the weather will be mainly cloudy with local rain and isolated storms,
Snow or sleet is likely to fall on the highest peaks of Troodos. Hail is also likely to fall in stormy areas. Winds will blow southwest to west, inland and in the mountains moderate to strong 4 to 5 Beaufort, but on the coast very strong 6 Beaufort and temporarily in the windward, up to strong 7 Beaufort. The sea will be wavy to very wavy. The temperature will drop to 8 degrees inland, around 12 on the coast and to 4 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Saturday, the weather will initially be partly cloudy and isolated rain or isolated storms are expected, but the phenomena will soon weaken.
On Sunday and Monday the weather will be mainly clear but increased cloudiness will be observed at times.
The temperature will gradually rise to hover above climate averages.
