In a one-hour protest event at 12:00 today, the nurses descend on the public hospitals, complaining of understaffing of the state hospitals.
The trade unions argue that OKYPY does not show a willingness to address, neither the specific problem, nor other problems such as those of payroll and the collective agreement.
The unions have also warned of taking strike action, in case the State Health Services Organization does not submit a proposal to deal with the problems.
For its part, OKYPY rejects the understaffing, noting that the staffing of public hospitals is a continuous effort and that it currently employs a large number of nurses.
