A 58-year-old woman is hospitalized in serious condition after being run over by a vehicle in the Troodos region.
According to initial information from the Limassol Traffic Police, under circumstances that are being investigated, a vehicle driver lost control and ran over the pedestrian, who was on the side of the road. The vehicle came to a standstill after subsequently colliding with another vehicle.
The accident occurred in the presence of a television crew, who were in the area for a report, and the Limassol Traffic Police and the Ambulance Service were immediately informed.
The injured woman was taken to the hospital, where at first glance she has fractures in her legs and is undergoing tests, while her condition is described as serious but out of danger.
The driver of the vehicle was taken in for questioning and the circumstances under which the vehicle ran over the 58-year-old woman are being examined.
It is recalled that, due to the frost, the roads in this area are only open to vehicles with snow chains or four-wheel drive.
