The Police are constantly vigilant and continuously evaluating the measures they are taking, Police spokesman Byron Byronos told CNA, adding that they have taken additional measures and are on constant alert.
Asked whether the Police have increased the measures they were already taking and are taking after the attack on the British Bases, Mr. Byronos said that as the Police they have an operational plan, which began shortly before the start of the Cyprus Presidency with increased security measures in various areas, which have been reinforced since the start of the conflict in the Middle East and the measures continue to be evaluated daily based on what is happening, such as the recent incident.
"We are constantly evaluating and taking additional measures where necessary," he noted.
When asked if a Crisis Center is operating at Police Headquarters, Mr. Byronos said that a Crisis Center has been established at Police Headquarters, in conjunction with the Central Crisis Center, which is on alert and assessing everything.
"We see the actions we take, the preventive measures we take, we increase the measures where necessary, in critical infrastructure and in other potential areas, which are considered high risk. We are in constant evaluation of any measure we have taken. We are in constant vigilance and continuous evaluation of the measures we take. We are in constant alert. We have taken reinforcing measures," he concluded.
