Today at 12:00 the scheduled autopsy is expected to be performed on the body of 25-year-old Al Khaled Saeid Mohamed, from Syria, a former resident of Paphos, who succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday night after being injured in a road collision on Tuesday. in Paphos.

The autopsy will be carried out at the Mortuary of the Nicosia General Hospital by coroners Angeliki Papetta and Orthodoxos Orthodoxou, according to the Assistant Police Director of Paphos Operations Michalis Nikolaou, in order to establish the causes of his death.

The road collision happened around 6pm. of June 23, on Makariou Avenue, in Chloraka, when the motorcycle, driven by the 25-year-old, under circumstances that are being investigated, collided with a car.

As a result of the collision, the 25-year-old was injured. He was transferred to the Paphos General Hospital, from where, due to the seriousness of his condition, he was transferred to the Nicosia General Hospital for further treatment. Around 23pm on Wednesday he succumbed to his injuries.

After the collision, the driver of the car reportedly left the scene and was stopped by a citizen a short distance away.

To facilitate investigations into the circumstances of the road collision, the Police initially arrested a 43-year-old man who presented himself as the driver of the vehicle.

From the continuation of the police examinations, testimony was obtained, according to which the driver of the vehicle, at the time of the collision, was a 41-year-old resident of Paphos, while the 43-year-old was also in the car, as a passenger.

The above persons were arrested by virtue of a court warrant and placed in custody to facilitate investigations. On July 1, the two arrested persons appeared before the Paphos District Court, where a case was registered against them.

The Paphos Traffic Police continues the examinations, while the case will be re-evaluated, in order to examine the modification of the charges facing the two arrested.
