A 16-year-old suffered a serious hand injury yesterday after a firecracker exploded in Larnaca.
Around 4.30pm yesterday, while the 16-year-old was with other young people in the churchyard, in a village in the Larnaca district, under circumstances that are being investigated, an improvised firecracker exploded. The 16-year-old was injured by the explosion.
He was initially taken to Larnaca General Hospital, where it was determined that he suffered a serious injury to the little finger of his left hand. He was then transferred to a private hospital for further treatment.
The Aradippou Police Station is investigating the case.
