The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulidis, has been in Granada since yesterday, and will participate today in the work of the Informal European Council.

Yesterday, President Christodoulidis participated in the thematic debate, within the framework of the work of the European Political Community Meeting, on multilateralism and security, during which issues related to respect for the UN Charter and the promotion of regional cooperation in the Eastern Mediterranean were discussed , as a model for multilateral cooperation.

Today, the President of the Republic will participate in the work of the Informal European Council.

Among the topics that will concern the Informal European Council is the Strategic Agenda 2024-2029 which concerns, among other things, issues of enlargement of the Union, as well as immigration and topical issues.

It is noted that in the context of the discussion on topical issues, a letter to the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, requesting further assistance and financial resources will be presented by the states participating in MED9, as agreed at their recent Summit in Malta to the countries that face the effects of climate change and natural disasters more strongly.

President Christodoulidis is accompanied by the Government Spokesperson, Konstantinos Letympiotis, the Director of his Diplomatic Office, Marilena Raunas, and officials.
