The Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, Kyriakos Kokkinos, went to Romania for an official visit, following the invitation of his counterpart, Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitalization Sebastian Burduja.

According to a statement, Mr. Kokkinos will meet with the Prime Minister of the country Nicolae Ciucă, as well as with his counterpart, with whom issues of bilateral cooperation in the fields of digital transformation and innovation, as well as the expansion of business and trade relations between Cyprus and Romania.

He will also meet, in the presence of the Communications Commissioner, Giorgos Michaelidis, with the Director General of the National Cyber ​​Security Directorate and the President of the Digitization Authority of Romania, as well as with business executives and companies active in the IT sector.

He will also have a meeting with Ioan-Sabin Sărmaş, Chairman of the Information and Communications Technologies Committee of the Lower House, and Chairman of the Plenipotentiary Conference of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), which will be held in Romania on at the end of September and in which the Republic of Cyprus will participate with an expanded mission, under the leadership of Stelios Chimons, Director General of the Deputy Ministry.

Mr. Kokkinos will also participate in a business forum organized by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and the Cypriot-Romanian Business Association, with the aim of promoting Cyprus as an attractive business center in the fields of technology and services.
