The Larnaca Permanent Criminal Court on Monday imposed an eight-year prison sentence on a 46-year-old man, who was found guilty after a hearing on six counts of sexual abuse of a child.
CNA reports that the Criminal Court's decision was held behind closed doors in order to protect the minor.
According to the facts of the case, the 46-year-old repeatedly sexually abused the then 13-year-old minor between 2021 and 2022.
The minor's testimony given in the Criminal Court was deemed credible.
It is noted that the testimony of the 46-year-old, who had denied the charges against him, was deemed unreliable by the Court.
