The barometric low “BORA”, centered in the Carpathian Sea, is moving eastward and affecting the region.
Today, the weather will be mostly cloudy with local showers and thunderstorms. Hail is expected in a storm. The phenomena may be intense or even prolonged in some places. Winds will be mainly northeast to southeast, initially light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and soon generally moderate, 4 Beaufort, however, passing west and north will blow to strong, 5 Beaufort. In a storm, the winds will change and strengthen, and strong wind gusts will also be observed. The sea will generally be a little rough and gradually to rough. The temperature will rise to around 17 degrees in the interior and the coasts and around 8 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight, the weather will continue to be mostly cloudy and localized showers and thunderstorms will continue to affect the island at times, and may locally be heavy or prolonged. Hail is expected in a storm. In the higher mountains, sleet or even snow is possible. Winds will be northeast to southeast, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and passing on the windward coast to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will generally be slightly rough to rough. The temperature will drop to around 11 degrees inland, around 13 on the coast and around 5 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Wednesday, the weather will continue to be mostly cloudy, while localized showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected, especially in the first half of the day. In a storm, hail is expected to fall and strong gusts of wind are also observed. Gradually until the afternoon, the effects will weaken.
On Thursday as well as on Friday, the weather will be partly cloudy and at times mainly cloudy, while isolated rains and a possible isolated thunderstorm are expected.
The temperature until Thursday will remain at the same levels, which are a little below normal, but on Friday it will rise slightly, to be close to the average climatic values of the season.
