Two cars in the Drosia area of Larnaca suffered damage to their engine bay and front end from a fire that broke out early today.
In a post by Andreas Kettis, Press Secretary of the Fire Service, on the "X" platform, it is stated that at around 02:08 on Monday, February 3, the Service responded "to a fire in two private vehicles, which were parked in a residential parking lot in the Drosia area of Larnaca."
It is added that "the Larnaca Fire Stations responded to extinguish the fire with two staffed fire engines. To extinguish the fire, members of the Fire Department used breathing apparatus and water hoses, while people had to be evacuated from their homes for precautionary reasons."
The fire "damaged both vehicles in their front and engine compartments."
The scene was handed over to the Police for safekeeping, while the causes of the fire will be investigated by the competent services later today.
