May rainfall is at 163% of normal, as of Friday the 15th of the month, with several areas having received more than three times the average rainfall for the month.
Overall, from the first of the month until today, the average rainfall in the free areas amounted to 31,9 millimeters, while the normal for the month is 19,6 millimeters.
The highest rainfall, compared to normal, was recorded at Paphos Airport, which received 385% of normal. At the new port of Limassol, rainfall reached 357%, in Polis at 356% and in Stavros tis Psokas 340%.
In terms of quantity, the most average rainfall since the beginning of the month was recorded in Stavros tis Psokas with 92,4 millimeters and the least in Xylotymbou, with just 7,1 millimeters.
Compared to the average normal since October 1, the average rainfall today is at 114%, with all areas, except Lythrodontas (97%), having exceeded 100% of normal.
Specifically, the average rainfall in the free areas from October 1st to today reached 555 millimeters, compared to 453,2, which is the normal average for the season.
