Visitation at recreation centers fluctuated between 80% and 90% in October, said the President of the All-Cyprus Federation of Associations of Recreation Center Owners (OSIKA), Neophytos Thrasyvoulos, adding that October was a very good month for the food industry.
Regarding the winter season, Mr. Thrasyvoulos stated that things are difficult and expressed his assessment that in order to reverse the situation, the war situation in the region must end, so that the insecurity felt by the visitors will also stop.
Traffic, he said, has seen some decline in recent days, but he expressed hope that traffic will move satisfactorily by November 15.
We hope, he continued, that at the beginning of November the food businesses will be able to secure 50%-60% of the traffic.
From there, Mr. Thrasyvoulos said, it is up to businessmen to stay open and use the Ministry of Labor's program to extend the tourist season.
He noted that due to the situation in the Middle East, at the beginning of the summer until July, the traffic was not satisfactory, but then the situation changed.
He also said that despite the increase in the prices of the products, the owners of the recreation centers should keep their prices down so that they are affordable for the people.
