The imposition of additional restrictive measures for the whole of Cyprus at tomorrow's meeting of the Council of Ministers is very likely, as the situation does not seem to be improving. On the contrary, yesterday's 197 cases confirm the bad epidemiological picture of our country.
According to information, among other things, there are concerns about the gyms, which are a place where there are several people at the same time, with the owners of the gyms expressing strong concerns about the new measures and what they will provide for their businesses.
In yesterday's meeting with the Minister of Health, the epidemiological team expressed concerns about the transmission of the virus observed in the locker rooms of the gyms, with the information to do so because the application of a stricter measure for the locker rooms is being considered and not in closing the gyms. The same information states that the discussion was more about the areas of Paphos and Limassol, where the biggest problem was identified in these areas.
Also, the possibility of operating other sports and indoor schools, such as dance schools, karate schools, swimming pools, etc., is being examined.
All decisions on the new measures are expected to be taken at tomorrow's meeting of the Council of Ministers.
