The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulidis, is visiting Israel today Thursday.
The working visit was scheduled to begin on Wednesday evening, however, it was postponed to this morning.
According to the program of the visit, as announced by the Presidency, this morning the President of the Republic will go to the Presidential Palace, where he will be received by the President of the State of Israel, Isaac Herzog.
A private meeting of the two Presidents will follow and then extended talks will take place between the delegations of the two countries.
Afterwards, the President of the Republic will go to the Prime Minister's Office, where he will have a private meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and then the two leaders will sit down for extended talks of their delegations.
Statements by the President and the Prime Minister to the media will follow.
At noon, President Christodoulidis will sit down to a lunch hosted in his honor by Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana.
In the early afternoon, the President of the Republic will visit the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, where he will attend a special commemoration ceremony that will take place as part of his visit there.
During his visit to Yad Vashem, President Christodoulidis will offer the Museum archival material concerning the Jews who were hosted in Cyprus and through it went to Israel, immediately after the Second World War.
Later, the President of the Republic will go to the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, from where, accompanied by the Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos III, he will go on a pilgrimage to the Holy Sepulcher. Afterwards, the President of the Republic and the Patriarch will have a private meeting at the Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
The President of the Republic will be accompanied to Israel by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Energy, the Director of the Press Office of the President and officials.
President Christodoulidis will return to Cyprus on the evening of May 12.
