The Famagusta District Court today issued a seven-day detention order for a 51-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman, as part of an investigation into cases involving burglaries and thefts.

The Police arrested yesterday these two individuals who, as they note, are allegedly involved in four cases of burglaries and thefts, which were committed between April 14-16 in Protaras.

Specifically, according to a police statement, "a 37-year-old man reported to the Police yesterday that the residence where he lives in Protaras was broken into, from which a sum of money and two pairs of AirPods, worth a total of 900 euros, were stolen."

From a signal emitted by the stolen AirPods, in a specific area in Ayia Napa, the identification and location of the two suspects was achieved.

Arrest warrants were obtained against two individuals aged 51 and 30, allegedly involved in four cases of burglaries and thefts, committed between 14-16/04/2026 in Protaras, and the two suspects were located and arrested yesterday afternoon at Paphos airport, upon their departure from Cyprus.

Further examinations carried out, "it was determined that the 51-year-old is involved in ten more cases of nighttime burglaries and thefts, which were committed in the years 2023 and 2025 in Paralimni," according to the Police.

The two arrested "are expected to appear today before the Famagusta District Court for the issuance of a detention order."

TAE Famagusta continues the exams.
