Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulidis is leaving for Brussels this morning to take part in the work of the European Union Foreign Affairs Council, which for the first time since February will be held again in the presence of the Foreign Ministers of the Member States.
According to an official announcement, Turkey will be at the center of the Summit, for which a strategic discussion will be held, in the light of, among other things, the developments in the wider Eastern Mediterranean region. In this context, the Foreign Ministers will be briefed by the High Representative on the results of his recent visit to Ankara, and will then have the opportunity to comment on the prospects for any further EU-Turkey dialogue.
Further, the foreign ministers will exchange views on the latest developments in a number of issues related to EU foreign policy, including the situation in Libya, the Middle East Peace Process, Hong Kong and discussing the situation in Venezuela. , also for the effects of the corona pandemic in Latin America and the Caribbean.
