Two people were taken to Larnaca General Hospital after inhaling smoke due to a fire that broke out in their apartment located on the second floor of an apartment building in Larnaca.
In a post on the "X" platform, Andreas Kettis, Press Secretary of the Fire Service, reported that at 21:49 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, two staffed fire trucks from Larnaca fire stations responded to extinguish a fire in an apartment on the second floor of an apartment building in Larnaca.
The fire damaged the kitchen area of the apartment, while the smoke damaged the paintwork and the equipment of the entire apartment.
Water hoses and breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the fire, while ventilation was also provided, according to Mr. Kettis.
Two foreign residents of the apartment were rescued by the Fire Department and handed over to an ambulance for transport to the Larnaca General Hospital's Emergency Department due to smoke inhalation, the Fire Department's press spokesman noted.
The residents of the other apartments promptly evacuated the building on their own.
