A total of 2.350 foreign nationals have so far been removed from Sudan via Cyprus as part of the ESTIA national plan, as the Press Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Theodoros Gotsis, told KYPE.
Specifically, in response to a question from KYPE on the matter, Mr. Gotsis stated that a total of three flights arrived in Cyprus yesterday, with the number of foreign nationals removed from Sudan reaching 2.350.
The first military aircraft carrying Australian citizens is expected to arrive this afternoon, while another British aircraft arrived at Larnaca airport in the morning hours.
Cyprus is the only country in the region that offers the possibility, through the Special National Plan ESTIA, which concerns the reception and repatriation of foreign citizens from an area in crisis, through the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.
