A 23-year-old man was arrested at Larnaca airport, who according to the Police had 22 kg of cannabis in his luggage.
The 23-year-old arrived at Larnaca airport on a flight from abroad this morning.
After gathering information, and with the cooperation of members of the Customs Department and the Police, the young man was subjected to a check as a result of which a number of packages of cannabis with a total gross weight of 22 kg were allegedly found in his luggage.
The 23-year-old was arrested for the obvious offenses of importation, possession of narcotic substances with the intention of supplying them to other people.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Larnaca District Court for the issuance of a detention order.
