Under the heading of current affairs, the Foreign Ministers will discuss the options document for Varosia and the developments in relation to the enclosed city on Monday, according to the main items on the agenda of the Foreign Affairs Council (SEU).

As mentioned, in the context of the discussion on current issues, the SEU will be informed about developments in Belarus, Varos and Ethiopia.

The three main issues that will concern the Foreign Ministers on Monday are EU-Africa relations, relations with the countries of Central Asia and the elections in Venezuela.

In particular, in relation to Africa, The foreign ministers will discuss the overall situation on the continent and the challenges it faces in areas such as security, development, demographic development, health, the evolution of democracy and multilateral relations.

In relation to Central Asia, the SEU will exchange views on EU bilateral and regional actions in the region, with a particular emphasis on connectivity. The situation in Afghanistan is also expected to be discussed during this discussion.

In relation to Venezuela, Ministers will focus on assessing the outcome of the elections and the results of the EU election observation mission.

The foreign ministers will also have an informal working lunch with the Qatari vice president and foreign minister.

The SEU is still expected to issue conclusions on the civilian Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP) pact.
