The Church of Cyprus has high expectations from the meeting that will take place tonight around 19:00, according to information from KYPE, between the Archbishop of Cyprus Mr. Chrysostomos II and the President of the Republic Nikos Anastasiadis with the exclusive theme of the opening of the temples and their operation on the day of Christmas, the New Year of the Epiphany and every Sunday, smoothly, observing all the health conditions which have already been pointed out to the christened crowd of the Church.
The first phase of the reaction of the infectious disease team was negative and had caused disappointment in the Church.
Petros Karagiannis, an epidemiologist and professor at the Medical School of the University of Nicosia, told KYPE that the situation will be reviewed this week at the Ministry and the President of the Republic will meet with the Archbishop of Cyprus to discuss the issue. He pointed out that he can not predict what the Archbishop of Cyprus will decide with the President of the Republic Mr. Anastasiadis, but neither what the cabinet will decide.
