Cyprus is in the "deep red" according to the epidemiological map of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) presented today, Thursday, August 19th.

Most areas of southern Europe are in the "red", with Greece now completely "red", such as Spain, Portugal, France and southern Italy, while Cyprus is in "deep red". Also, all of Germany is now orange, except for Berlin and North Rhine-Westphalia which is red.

According to the revised ECDC map, in Greece the areas with "deep red" are Crete, the Ionian Islands, the Dodecanese and the Cyclades.

The ECDC map is updated weekly. The European Agency adopts a color code based on the number of coronavirus cases per 100.000 inhabitants, as well as the positivity rate per country.
