Yesterday afternoon, the Police arrested a 29-year-old man, to facilitate investigations regarding an attempted murder case, committed in Nicosia, on January 29, 2023.
The 29-year-old was spotted around 4pm. yesterday, on a road in the province of Famagusta, by members of YCAN (Provincial Echelon of Famagusta). He was stopped for a check, during which it was found that he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for attempted murder, under which he was arrested and taken into custody to facilitate investigations.
The photo and personal details of the 29-year-old were made public on 4/2/2023, by the Police, in an attempt to locate him. After his arrest, further publication of his photo and personal data is unnecessary.
The attempted murder was committed in the early hours of January 29, 2023, in a nightclub in Nicosia. According to the evidence under review, around 3 am, a 24-year-old patron of the center had an argument with another patron who allegedly pulled out a knife and wounded the 24-year-old in the abdomen. A 38-year-old security guard at the property approached the two men to deal with the situation, however the alleged assailant allegedly wounded him in the chest with a knife and fled.
For the same case, a 30-year-old man is still wanted, against whom an arrest warrant is pending, to facilitate investigations.
