The Police yesterday arrested a 33-year-old man in Nicosia on charges of illegal possession and importation of Class C controlled drugs. After a search of the 33-year-old's home, 210 pills with a specific inscription were reportedly found.
Specifically, according to a Police announcement, the Anti-Narcotics Service (ANS) is conducting investigations against a 33-year-old man, regarding offenses related to illegal possession of a Class C controlled drug, illegal possession of a Class C controlled drug with the purpose of supplying it to other persons and illegal importation of narcotic substances.
As stated in the announcement, on April 9, 2025, through a courier company, a package containing approximately 200 pills, similar to pharmaceutical preparations, which fall under Class C of controlled drugs, was imported into Cyprus.
Subsequent examinations revealed that a package with a similar description of contents had been sent to the same declared recipient address on April 8, 2025.
As a result of the above, a search warrant was obtained on April 10, 2025.
On the same day, according to the Police, members of the Nicosia Metropolitan Police Department conducted a search of the 33-year-old's home, pursuant to the warrant, during which a computer, a bank card and mobile phones were located and seized.
In addition, a package was located, within which, after a relevant inspection, it was determined that there were 210 pills with a specific inscription.
The 33-year-old was arrested for flagrant offenses and taken into custody, while today he will be brought before the Nicosia District Court, for the issuance of a detention order.
