Members of the Aliens and Immigration Service, during a pan-Cypriot coordinated operation, identified and arrested yesterday, 25 third-country nationals, who were illegally residing on the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.
The business is part of the efforts made to combat the phenomenon of illegal and irregular immigration.
Ten of them were repatriated on the same day, while the repatriation of the remaining 15 has also been postponed.
From the beginning of the year until today, a total of 6,300 persons, who resided illegally in Cyprus, have been repatriated, in the context of the efforts of the Police and other competent Authorities of the Republic, for the repatriation of third country nationals to their countries of origin, through voluntary and forced procedures return.
During the corresponding period last year, 5,257 persons were repatriated.
The efforts of the Police to maximize the number of repatriations continue.
