Paphos Police identified two persons aged 31 and 41 driving in Paphos under the influence of drugs, while the 41-year-old was found to be in possession of a quantity of drugs inside his vehicle.

According to Paphos Assistant Police Director Michalis Ioannou, at 22:00 last night, members of the Paphos Traffic Police on Archbishop Makarios Avenue in Chloraka stopped a vehicle for inspection, which was found to be driven by a 31-year-old resident of Paphos.

During a preliminary examination of drugs, it was found that he had received drugs while a relevant sample will be sent to the General State Chemist for laboratory analysis. A search of his vehicle followed without detecting anything illegal.

Moreover, according to the Assistant Police Director of Paphos, Michalis Ioannou, in a second case, last night at 22:00, members of the Paphos Crime Prevention Unit stopped a car driven by a 41-year-old resident of Paphos on the main road Tremithousa - Talas.

A search of his vehicle turned up a quantity of cannabis in his possession and he was arrested for the spontaneous offense of possession of a controlled drug. The 41-year-old was taken to the Offices of ADE Paphos where he stated in writing that the finds were his and he owned them for his own use. A breathalyzer test was performed on the 41-year-old with zero indication and a preliminary drug test with a positive result. He was charged in writing and fired. The offenses he faces are the illegal possession and use of a controlled Class B drug and traffic offenses.
