The Paphos Police arrested two people for a case of taking videos of private content from a mobile phone and sending them to another mobile phone.

According to the Press Spokesperson of ADE Paphos and Head of TAE Paphos, Michalis Nikolaou, on 25.5.23 it was reported to the Paphos Police by two women, aged 24 and 26, that a compatriot, aged 24, on 5.5.23 sent from his mobile phone the 24-year-old's phone on his own mobile phone, without its owner knowing, photos and videos in which private moments of the two women were recorded.

According to the complaint, the 24-year-old then allegedly sent the above videos to another compatriot, aged 31. The 31-year-old then threatened the 26-year-old that he would publish the said videos on Social Media if she did not have sex with him.

The offenses being investigated by the Paphos Police are conspiracy to commit a felony, illegal access to an information system, interception of private communications and threats. Arrest warrants were issued against the two persons, aged 24 and 31.

The 31-year-old was arrested on June 1 and the 24-year-old was subsequently arrested on June 4. The two persons are in custody until June 8 in order to investigate the case.
