The weather is expected to be cloudy today with the possibility of rain mainly in the mountains but also in the western areas of the island, according to the Meteorological Service.

Initially, the weather today will be mainly clear with some locally increased cloudiness on the coasts. Gradually, however, it will become partly cloudy and intermittently cloudy with isolated rains, mainly in the mountains but also in the western areas of the island. Snow or sleet may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos. The winds will initially blow north-west to north-east, weak, 3 Beaufort, to soon become mostly north-east to south-east and in the afternoon on the west coast to south-west, of the same intensity. The sea will be calm to a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 20 degrees inland and on the coasts and around 11 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight the weather will be mostly clear, however, later, mainly on the west and east coasts, there will be temporarily increased clouds that may give isolated light rain. A local thin mist or fog may form later. Winds will be northwest to northeast and locally to southeast, light 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to a little rough. The temperature will drop to around 7 degrees in the interior, around 10 on the coasts and around 4 degrees in the higher mountains, where locally frost is expected to form.
On Friday, temporarily increased clouds will be observed in places which may give isolated rain, initially on the coasts and later in the mountains. Light snow or sleet may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos. The weather will gradually become clear until the early afternoon.
On Saturday, the weather will be mostly clear with locally increased cloudiness that will be observed from time to time. On New Year's Day, the weather will be mostly clear, however initially, there will be temporarily increased cloudiness in places.
The temperature until the New Year is not expected to change appreciably, thus remaining above the average climatic values for the season.
