A joint forced return flight of immigrants residing illegally on the territory of the Republic of Cyprus took place on Tuesday, May 21, with the cooperation of the Authorities of Cyprus and Greece, under the coordination of the European organization FRONTEX.
This is the 7th participation of the Cyprus Police in joint FRONTEX operations for the repatriation of third country nationals, during 2024. Members of the Foreigners and Immigration Service - YAM participated in the international operation.
Until today, in 2024, a total of 4,491 persons, who resided illegally in Cyprus, have been repatriated, in the context of the efforts of the Police and the Authorities of the Republic, for the repatriation of third country nationals to their countries of origin.
During the corresponding period last year, 3,489 persons were repatriated.
The efforts of the Police and the Aliens and Immigration Service, to maximize the number of repatriations, continue.
