The Council of Ministers decided on Wednesday to appoint an investigating officer to investigate any disciplinary responsibilities of the former Director of the Road Transport Department (TD), Yiannis Nikolaidis, following the findings on the Takata airbags, compiled by the Investigative Committee.
According to information, the Council of Ministers was informed today by the Minister of Transport, Alexis Vafeadis, regarding the findings of the Investigative Committee.
Then - and according to the same information - the Council of Ministers decided to appoint an investigating officer to investigate any disciplinary responsibilities.
It is recalled that Yiannis Nikolaidis is the General Director of the Deputy Ministry of Welfare and should probably be placed on suspension until the completion of the disciplinary investigation.
Mr. Nikolaidis is the former Deputy Director of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, while he also served as Deputy Director of the Department of Road Transport (DRT).
