Four deaths and 14.914 new cases in the last week in Cyprus

The Ministry of Health in a statement states that for the week of July 1 – 7, 2022:

– 4 deaths were announced

- Relate to:

o Man, aged 87, who died on July 2

o Man, aged 91, who died on July 3

o Man, aged 92, who died on July 4

o Man, aged 69, who died on July 4

- Total number of deaths with final cause of the disease COVID-19: 1079.

- 97 patients COVID-19 are hospitalized in OKYPY hospitals

- 8 in serious condition (ICU: 0 out of ventilator / 1 intubated, MAF: 7)

- 3 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be treated intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic examinations:

- A total of 111.137 diagnostic tests were performed

- 14.914 new cases were identified (total of 530.510 cases).

- Position rate in all exams 13,42%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

- 5.052 molecular tests were performed

- There were 1.043 positive incidents

- Position rate 20,65%

Total Rapid Test:

- 106.085 rapid antigen detection tests were performed

- There were 13.871 positive incidents

- Position rate 13,08%

Tracking:

- 13 molecular tests were performed and 5 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 38,46%)

Private initiative:

- 4.332 molecular tests were performed, 850 positive cases were identified (percentage of positivity 19,62%)

- 91.263 rapid antigen detection tests were performed, 13.271 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 14,54%)

14.822 rapid antigen detection tests were performed through the programs of the Ministry of Health. 600 positive cases were identified.

- Sampling points: 6.734 rapid detection tests detected 492 positive cases (positivity rate 7,31%)

Other

- National Guard: 373 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and 27 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 7,24%)

- Nursing homes: 4.880 rapid antigen detection tests were performed, 47 positive cases were detected (positivity rate 0,96%)

- Closed structures: 2.835 rapid antigen detection tests were performed and 34 new cases were detected (positivity rate 1,2%).
