Temperatures of 58 and 59 degrees Celsius were recorded yesterday by the Kouri station during the advance of the large fire in Limassol.
In statements to Trito, meteorological officer Andreas Chrysanthou recalled that they had warned yesterday of wind gusts of 5 and 6 Beaufort which lasted for much of the night.
In the morning, Mr. Chrysanthou said, the field appears very weakened, but from noon onwards, similar gusts of wind are expected in western Cyprus.
