A victim of electronic fraud with investments in cryptocurrencies reported that a 47-year-old man fell in Limassol, according to which he lost a sum of money of almost 11.600 euros.
According to the TAE of Limassol, as the complainant reported on Monday, he found a website on the internet that said it provided consulting services for cryptocurrency investments.
After making a relevant request, he was contacted by an unknown person, who told him that he would have a certain financial benefit, while with his suggestions, he gave access to his computer, in order to help him create an account on a certain cryptocurrency platform.
This was followed, on four different occasions, by the transfer of a total amount of 11.591,42, through an exchange, to his personal electronic wallet, while on the same day the money was transferred to another person's account, without his consent.
He was also asked to deposit other money, but failed to do so and the complainant reported his fraud to TAE Limassol.
The case is being investigated by the Economic Crime Investigation Office.
