A 54-year-old man fell victim to fraud in Limassol, as a result of which he was robbed of €30.000 in cryptocurrencies.
According to the Police, the complaint was made yesterday by the 54-year-old stating that in February 2024 he received a friend request on Facebook from a person who was introduced to him with a false name and with whom he chatted on a daily basis, convincing him to invest €30.000 in cryptocurrencies.
The complainant, under the direction of the person in question, sent the above amount in four transactions, from his bank account to an e-wallet.
When he tried to withdraw the winnings to no avail he realized that he was a victim of fraud.
The GDOE of the Crime Investigation Department of Limassol continues the examinations.
