The Fire Service responded to 16 incidents all over Cyprus in the last 24 hours due to heavy rainfall and strong winds.

According to a post on 'X' by Fire Service Spokesman Andreas Kettis, Limassol Fire Stations responded to eight incidents, involving falling trees, pumping water from the basement, pumping water from properties, towing vehicles and opening a rainwater drain from a flooded street . Famagusta Fire Stations also responded to eight incidents involving pumping water from house basements, opening storm water drains from flooded streets and vehicle towing.

It also states that the Fire Service responded to 24 incidents, 50 fires and 17 special services in the last 33 hours. The most important, he says, concern the response of EMAK with a group of climbers to rescue an injured hunter, in the rural area of ​​Delikipos in a difficult-to-access area - a ravine. It also refers to the response of the Larnaca Fire Department with two staffed fire engines to a fire in a commercial vehicle that was parked on a dead-end street in Oroklini.
