The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for very strong to gusty winds from 09:00 until 18:00 today.

As reported, very strong to gusty and locally gusty winds are expected. Winds are expected to initially blow southwest to west and later west to northwest, with an intensity of 6 to 7 Beaufort and local to 7 Beaufort.

It is clarified that in windward, mainly coastal areas, locally strong to gale-force winds of intensity 7 to 8 Beaufort are expected in the same direction.

The Director of the Department of Meteorology, Kleanthis Nikolaidis, speaking to Protoselidos, explained that the morning rains that affected some areas will gradually stop and are limited to the mountains and further east.

Also, due to the strong winds, the temperature will remain slightly below the average climatic values.

He added that tomorrow there will be a further drop in temperature, but as quickly as this system came, it will be gone as soon as we see a gradual increase in temperature by Saturday.
