The plane that carried the German Foreign Minister Analena Berbock from Israel to Lebanon yesterday had to fly very low over Larnaca airport, without even touching the runway.
Deutsche Welle journalist Mikaela Keffner who was on board the plane captured the footage, explaining why it was necessary for this to happen.
“This sums up the conflict in the Middle East. We don't even touch the runway here in Cyprus. Not even the German foreign minister can fly directly from Tel Aviv to Beirut. He must travel through Cyprus and at least show up on the radar that he stopped," the journalist says characteristically in the video she published on "X"
German FM Annalena Baerbock's plane did not even touch the ground in Cyprus to avoid illegally traveling directly from Israel to Lebanon.
Here's the moment the plane did a "low pass" at Larnaca airport.
I asked the pilots when they would otherwise do it: "Only at air shows." pic.twitter.com/fvxGIEPUhq

As Kefner captioned her post, when she asked the pilots in what other situations they might do this, they told her, "Only at air shows."
