A 34-year-old man, who was spotted by members of the Police trying to break into a residence in Limassol yesterday afternoon, was arrested for an unprovoked crime. The members of the Police had rushed to the area to carry out tests, following information about a suspicious person.
Specifically, at around 2.00 pm on Tuesday, information was received stating that an unidentified man, who was walking suspiciously on a certain street in Limassol, entered the yard of an adjacent residence. Members of the "Z" Team rushed to the area, who found the suspicious man trying to break into the main entrance of a residence, using an electric tool. The members of the Police proceeded to arrest the 34-year-old suspect for the self-inflicted crime of attempted residential burglary.
In a subsequent investigation, various pieces of silver jewelry were found in the possession of the 34-year-old, as well as a total of 30 packs of cigarettes and tobacco, for the possession of which he did not give satisfactory explanations, as a result of which he was also arrested for the open-ended offense of illegal possession of property. Jewelry and tobacco products found are tested to see if they are stolen property.
