The Kouklia police station is investigating a case of grievous bodily harm involving a 47-year-old victim.

According to the Police, on Sunday, October 19, a complaint was filed at the Kouklia police station by a 47-year-old man that shortly before noon of the same day at the Timi bazaar, after a confrontation with an unknown person, the person attacked him and hit him in the face with his hands.

The 47-year-old went to the Accident and Emergency Department of Paphos General Hospital, where he underwent examinations and it was determined that he had a serious fracture to his nose and a wound to the area of his right eye.

He was detained for treatment at Paphos Hospital, while he was then transferred to Nicosia General Hospital where he underwent surgery and was detained for further treatment.

According to the information under investigation, the 47-year-old had attempted to defend a woman who refused to pay people to replace the windshield wipers on her vehicle.

These individuals had allegedly replaced worn-out windshield wipers on the woman's vehicle in Timi without her permission.

The woman refused to pay, asking to have hers replaced, but the scammers countered that the ones they had replaced were disposable, and if they were removed they would break, insisting on being paid.

The 47-year-old intervened and a fight broke out, resulting in his injury. The assailants disappeared and are being sought by the police.

It is noted that the phenomenon of scammers changing car wipers without asking for their drivers' permission and then asking for money for the new ones they installed seems to be common in various areas of Paphos.
