In a fatal road collision that occurred yesterday afternoon in Nicosia, Georgios Theofanous, 20 years old, from Lakatamia, lost his life.
Around 7.10pm, Theophanous was riding his motorcycle on Aegean Street in Lakatamia. Under circumstances that are being investigated, the motorcycle collided with a car driven by a 64-year-old man.
Both drivers were injured in the collision. They were taken to Nicosia General Hospital, where the 20-year-old was pronounced dead, while the 64-year-old was discharged after receiving first aid.
The Nicosia Traffic Police, which is investigating the causes of the collision, appeals to anyone who knows anything about the circumstances under which the road collision occurred, to contact the Nicosia Traffic Police or the nearest Police Station or the Citizen's Line on telephone number 1460.
