A total of three criminal offenses are being faced by the police officers, a man and a woman, who are allegedly involved in a video in which they appear to engage in sexual acts outside a patrol car.
In statements to CNA, Police Spokesperson Kyriaki Lambrianidou stated that criminal offenses are being investigated against the two police officers, which concern neglect of duty, indecent act and perpetrator, which means a person who commits the criminal act, according to the criminal code.
According to Kyriaki Lambrianidou, the two have already been suspended and, in addition to a criminal case, a disciplinary case is being investigated against them.
In relation to the video, he stated that analyses were conducted and at first glance it appears to be "authentic".
He added that the investigative work "is ongoing," noting that the investigations are focused around the entire incident.
Furthermore, he added that for the purposes of clarifying the case, statements will be taken, for the purposes of collecting evidence, noting that "if other offenses arise, they will be added."
It is noted that the video, which was recorded by a citizen in Larnaca, has been circulating the internet since yesterday.
The video in question shows two police officers engaging in sexual intercourse outside a patrol car, which was parked in an open area of the city.
When asked about this, Ms. Lambrianidou said that one of the two members of the Police was off duty at the time the incident occurred.
When asked whether the two members of the House have appeared for testimony, Ms. Lambrianidou did not want to comment.
