Third place for Cyprus in the final competition "International Low-Vision Song Contest"
The participation of the Pancyprian Organization of the Blind in the final song contest Euro Low-Vision 2021, which took place on Friday, May 21, 2021, was crowned with great success. The song entitled "the light" finally took the very honorable Third place among the 17 entries of the national organizations of the blind that competed in the final.
This is a composition by Aggeliki Preza in lyrics by Nikolas Sotiriou. The song was presented by four members of the Pancyprian Organization of the Blind: Toni Sotiriou and Maria Poulli song, Nikola Sotiriou Violotselo and Costa Karpasitis on violin.
The success of our country is due to the excellent interpretation of the song and the enthusiasm with which this artistic group presented itself in front of the thousands of spectators who attended the event and voted online. The first place was taken by the song entitled Otra Vision from the Spanish Association of the Blind performed by Laura Diepstraten Garcia, while the second place was taken by the song Zaman from Turkey. In fourth place and behind the song of our country was the song from Germany entitled The Things performed by Benjamin Michael, while in fifth place was the song from Switzerland. The event was presented by Georgia Venetaki, a well-known TV presenter in Europe. (DBSV).
The Pancyprian Organization of the Blind is the national body recognized by the European Union for education or support for the visually impaired in Cyprus.
