A letter of thanks was sent to the members of the Police who rescued children who were trapped in a ravine 150 meters deep in Troodos.

The letter received by the Police:

"Dear Gentlemen,

I would like to thank Station Master Troodos USA and the Police A.P. and G. S. for the quick and successful rescue of our children from a ravine yesterday in Troodos. After my phone call to 112, the response was immediate and Chief Troodos H.P. was in constant telephone contact with me until he came to the rescue with the special snow vehicle. I also appreciated the interest of the Station. US who called again in the afternoon and evening to make sure the children were in good health.

With much appreciation

K….."

The two minor boys, while they were playing near a snowmobile, due to the icy ground, slipped and ended up in a ravine 150 meters deep.

The Police were called to the spot, where members of the Troodos and Platres Police Stations, using the crawler rescue vehicle, managed to free the children, who were transported to a safe place, where they were handed over to their guardians.
